Job Description
Reporting to the Artistic Director, the Outreach and Development Coordinator is responsible for marketing the repertoire of the company to international presenters, local institutions and the general public. This position will start as a part time position with a flexible schedule of a between 15 and 20 hours per week. The successful candidate will have the option of working from home, where they must have access to a telephone and internet or the princess productions’ office. This position will include occasional evening and weekend hours as well as national and international travel. There will be international training opportunities with this position. The candidate must be either a Landed Immigrant of Canada or Canadian Citizen with valid passport and be able and willing to travel. The successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Primary responsibilities
• Developing and implementing a touring program for the company
• Tour management of the company
• Writing grants related to marketing and touring
• Reporting on grants
• Researching and cultivating new touring opportunities
• Community outreach and donor cultivation
Skills / Experience - Required
• Selling experience
• Experience working with smaller arts organizations
• Ability to work independently, meeting deadlines and commitments to team members
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Interpersonal and communications skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
Skills / Experience - Desired
• Theatre production experience
• Knowledge of contemporary dance
• Valid driver’s license
• French and/or Chinese languages
Start date Spring 2008. This position funded in part by the Metcalf Foundation’s three year commitment under the Strategic Initiatives program. Our hope is that the right candidate will help the company grow this position to one that is full-time.
