About Position:
The Publications and Archive department is looking for a high energy, dependable, organized, team oriented person for an excellent entry-level opportunity as an Archive Intern.

Projected Goal
The ongoing preservation of our photographic and digitized collection, which includes 28 years of the Genie Awards and Gemini Awards as well as Professional Development Programs and Special Events.
Responsibilities
• Implementing a standard archival system of preservation, cataloguing and digitalization of photographs as established by the company.
• General tasks to continue the process of maintaining and expanding the existing archives include research work for captioning and identification, the improvement of the existing physical condition of files, and the digitizing of photographs.
• Computer tasks include the updating and development of the archival database system through cataloguing of photo descriptions as well as assisting with the movement towards an internally accessible archival database system.
Secondary Tasks
• Assisting in the assessment of the current functionality of the digital archives database and developing possible modifications to streamline the system.
• Assisting in the research of potential funding sources for a public component to the digitalized archives.
Requirements
• Applicants should have one year of training in archival principles at the university or college level.
• An interest in Canadian film and television would be an asset as well as experience with database management.
• Detail-oriented, able to take instruction, take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
• Professional demeanor. Outgoing and friendly personality.
• Must be able to express oneself clearly, thoroughly and politely.
• Ability to multitask and exhibit consistent follow-through and can work under time constraints.
• Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office, including Access. HTML skills desirable.
Additional Information
• Minimum part-time commitment of 16 hours per week, 2 days per week, for a duration of 3 months with possible extension.
